Cass Scenic Shay #4 with a small photo freight climbs out of the switchback and heads towards a large line of railfans awaiting at the S curve. Having done that shot a few times, I resorted to this angle. As seen at Cass Railfan Weekend 2011.
This is a great shot, you can see the planning, timing and competence, in fact it puts you right there to share, sense the occasion, wondering about the dry leaves in autumn. Exactly what you would wish your image will do for the viewer. However, here to find critiques, if any, for me there are a couple, that stop this image being as good as it can get. 1st cropping, a one degree clockwise tilt makes a tremendous difference to the comfort of the viewing then, then 2nd a 10% opening of the shadows, give so much more to see.

Amazing contrast.....she looks like she has been around awhile...Nice Matt!
This loos amazing! I love the colors!
Well done!!!!! Really.
Amazing capture, she looks perfect framed with the intense green of the forest!! You might need to offer this one as a print, I would like to hang this one in my office! Very nice
This would be a fascinating place to shoot just the track, catching the curve.
Awesome photo. Lovely background. The smoke looks cool. It is so dense.
very nice machine and great photo
Magnificent shot! The big black smoke against the beautiful green leaves makes the train look so evil. Still beautiful however.
Very, very cool shot. Love how rich and green the forest is compared to the train (which looks so nice and shiny- all of our trains are horribly graffitied lol)
Great shot, just simply stunning!
That's a beautiful photo!
Amazing shot! love how the tree's frame it perfectly.
