NKP765 in a grand show of smoke exits Alleghany tunnel at Gallitzin, PA. I chased this train from the outside of Horseshoe Curve to here and made it with a half a minute to spare. Im glad I made it to the tunnels as this is the best Ive seen of 765 at Gallitzin exiting the tunnel. I was one of 3 railfans to shot it here on this day.
Excellent photo of this classic piece of machinery. America needs to bring back the age of burning coal and rolling smoke.
Holy cow, that's a lot of smoke, but it certainly makes a beautiful scene as a steam engine exits out of those tunnels. Great Photo of 765.
That is awesome seeing the train coming out of the tunnel.
somewhere, an eco-nerd has had a heart attack at all that smoke...and I dance at the thought XD Now all we need is for her to double-head with 1361 if and when she ever gets running again.
I'm sure big sister #759 would be proud.
What a superb photo of one of my favorite steam locomotives! I wish I could have gone to see her in action...
I'd have called this "Black Thunder". XD
Looks cool! Great pic.
Amazing photo and a lovely locomotive
