Five decades

The build date on the classic F7 is 1955, while the SD70ACe is 2006, a difference of over 5 decades. The two EMDs sit together blue flagged as they are getting serviced for their next trip at KCS's Knoche Yard on the east side of Kansas City. The ACe, already 8 years old, has probably racked in over a million miles while the F7 has many many more miles on the newer EMD.

I could not pass up on this shot, even with foreground clutter infront of both engines. Sometimes you just got to take a image and make the best of the situation. Im sure some time in photoshop could clear some things but then that would be lying. And ultimately, when you start removing a wire in the sky, you start removing the bigger and bigger things until your spending more time in photoshop than out in the field enjoying the hobby. Too many photographers shop their work anymore.
