Keystones at Latrobe by DragonWolfACe Keystones at Latrobe by DragonWolfACe
I took this a few hours before this.

I started the day here at Latrobe, wanting to catch the PRR E Units leading the Pittsburgh excursion back to Altoona passing the ex PRR station complete with its PRR Latrobe station sign.

That low rumble that makes your insides shake with excitement, right to your very core!! Doesn’t matter if it’s a crawl or at speed, the sound of those cylinders creating raw horsepower is AWESOME :D

Nice shot. Quite a motley assemblage of equipment behind the Es, though -- not every day you see bomber cars, an amfleet, and a dome in the same consist.

Well, they where the Conrail Executive E Units, then ended up being owned by Bennett Levan who restored them to their PRR glory. The third Ex Conrail E Unit is suppose to return to its EL paint, dont know if it is or not.

Yes, one must love a arrogant self obsesed railroad! No other railroad proudly used the motto, "Standard of the World". PRR is my second favorite railroad, Conrail firt.

I think you have an idea, but emm ya. GOOD STUFF!

They also sounded pretty nice roaring by a couple of NS Dash9s at Lilly, unfortently, I was one of 50 other railfans that ended up being blocked by the GEs!
