I wanted to ensure a spot on the side of Horseshoe Curve for steam loco NKP 765 that I arrived several hours before dawn!!
In reality I came to kill two birds with one stone. I wanted to do some night shots on the curve so I just left earlier than I normally would of to go do them.
At 430 in the morning, three trains rounded the curve within this 5 minute exposure. 17G was first, heading west. As the rear end cleared, 262 went east on Track 2. As the rear end cleared, 10N followed 262 on Track 1.
I was concerned this wouldnt come out as I had to manually focus and with nothing for ME to focus on, I had to set the lens at where I THINK it would be focused. I had two trains to tweak things out so things worked out well when the magic happened.
