Tan Sky

The sky on this day was brown all morning. I would guess from forest fires or something. It was weird! The DPU, a AC44 of Southern Pacific heritage, trails a loaded coal train as it quickly heads away from me and Union Pacifics huge Bailey yard at North Platte, NE. Next to it, a stack train begins to overtake the loaded coal train. Both going 40MPH and gaining speed as they accelerate towards UPs triple track mainline across Nebraska, the busiest freight mainline in the world. In the distance, a westbound enters the yard. There is, on average, a train entering the yard every 15 minutes.
