Two years ago, when I finished this, this was my first train drawing in four years. Earlier in 2007 I started drawing again, after a four year absence...just took a extended break I guess.
Anyway, a longer than normal Pittsburgh to Wheeling passenger train thunders out of Tunnel Green, over the Wheeling Terminal and Wheeling Creek. A snow storm has just dumped some fresh white stuff as the clouds break and the sun pokes out, providing a nice dark backdrop against the white steam.
For those who pass by Wheeling on I70, this is how it looked before the highway was built. I70 was built right next to the tunnel. The bridge and tunnel are now a rails to trails.
I spent Id say 30 to 50 hours on this. Increadibly slow...Im working on one now Ive spent three hours on and Im two hours from finishing it. Ive gotten faster...
