A trio of Alco C430s with their signature blub sound slowly pull a empty train of ore jennys out of Weirton yard as a loaded grain train with several EMDs with dynamics whining slow to a stop to get helpers for the climb out of the Ohio river valley.

As you can see, the downward fall has began with weeds covering the mainline. What was once a common practice has become nothing. The ore ran until just a few years ago when Weirton Steel went cold. What was once two million dollars a day revenue for the railroad turn to almost nothing. Through trains on the Panhandle are long gone, the line ripped up in the early 90s.

So much rail and industrial activity in the Ohio Valley now nothing. We here in the good ol USA are doing our part in going green by destroying our own industrial strength and power as we hand it to other countries.
